Lipstick of the week

Hello lovelies,

So the lipstick of the week is MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer in 'Atomic'.

Now I know what your all thinking 'WOW! That is far too too bright for me'!! I thought the same thing when I took it out the packaging and tried it for the first time and everybody who knows me, knows that I love love love a bright lip.

Now I'm not going to lie it is very bright and very bright and very opaque, but I've grown to love it.

It's applies fairly easily, although a few coats is needed to get a even lip coat, it applies wet and glossy but drys to matte within a few minutes, and one thing it doesn't do it smudge or budge to mention that too! When I first tested this range on my hand I was a bit dubious AS I couldn't budge it from the swatch on my hand at all, BUT I'd say this is what would make it ideal for pool side or beach time wear as it is notoriously waterproof although this isn't stated.

The cons it is very very very drying, so if you suffer from dry lips this really isn't for you, so much so that I applied a tiny amount of Lu butter over the top when I wear it.

I'm not 100% sure how many shades there are in the range, I'm guessing when I last looked there is near too 6-8.

Overall I love the product and will be purchasing the rest of the rang, which I will be doing a review on over on my YouTube channel within the next few weeks!

Nail colour of the week

Hi lovelies,

As some of you who know me already know that my weekly little treat is to get my nails done.

And I think why not? I don't smoke, I rarely drink.

I am going to do weekly (sometimes fortnightly, depends if I have 'gel' nails) posts called 'Nail colour of the week'.

This week I was due some 'infills' so I went for a gel colour, and this lasts me a good two weeks.

I never normally go for the type of colour I had done, the photo really doesn't do it justice. It is two gel colour the under colour being a 'dark peachy metallic nude colour' and the glitter overcoat is a lovely 'gold/silver/champagne colour, it really depends which angle you look at it in the light.

Unfortunately due to getting them done in a salon, I am unable to provide the names of the colours, I will in following posts provide the brand and colour name. My next 'nail colour of the week' will be in two weeks!

Hope you enjoy this post any suggestions welcome, on the next blog post!

Lipstick of the week

Hi everyone!

So I love lipsticks and buy one every week at least, so I thought why not make it a weekly blogpost!

This week I got an  MUA lipstick in the shade 'Persian pink'. I love it, it's a bright pink but not too bright it's quite a muted pink tone, some may describe it as  'Barbie pink'. The photo of me wearing it shows its true colour, where as in the packaging it's quite a bit darker. What's best is it's only £1 bargain.

Check back next week for more 'lipstick of the week' !!

My getting ready for a night out routine

Hi Guys!

So tonight I'm off out, which is very very rare for me! So I thought I'd give a quick run through of the beauty steps I like to take in the lead up.

1. The night before the night out, tanning time. Recently I have been loving 'Cocoa Browns one hour tan' and I'm loving it because it doesn't streak and it doesn't leave that 'digestive biscuit' smell. Basically you apply the mouse with a tanning mitt and rub it all in then wash it off an hour later and it leave a lovely glow. I have used this as an overnight fake tan like I normally do with my trusty fake bake, but I found it made me very orange and I smelt so bad of fake tan as it had really soaked into my skin. Basically the longer you leave the tan on the darker you will go.

3. Wash hair and apply a deep hair mask or treatment. I like to apply a treatment and leave it on for hour,  while carrying on with my other little beauty treatments I like to do (my favourite hair mask is Aussie three minute miracle).
4. Whiten teeth, I do this normally while my hair mask is on. I use a variety of different whitening treatments. I have tried 'Coco Whites' and 'MrBlanc', but I prefer the 'Crest white strips' as these really bleach my teeth.

5. Nose strip, these aren't for everyone but being someone who suffers with big pores that clog easily, I feel a sense of satisfaction when I use these and see how clean they get my skin after. I'm currently using 'Beauty Solution' ones which are a Bargain at £1 for a pack of six from 'Savers'. There are various other makes such a 'Biore' nose strips that are available in most super drugs and boots, although these are a little bit more pricier but I honestly find they are the same as the cheaper brand.

6. Once I have rinsed off my deep conditioner, I like to let my hair dry 75% on its own, to save me adding more heat than needed. I will then finish it off with a quick blast with my hairdryer and then straighten it. Even though I'm going to be adding curlers, straightening it really smoothes my hair down.

7. I then apply some big heated rollers always rolling under, so this creates volume. Once they have all been put in,I will leave it for half hour so, so the curls set. I tend to only use the big rollers as it's more body I am after than curls. This is my look after I applied them today, one is my hair straight before rollers and the other is my hair after .

8. Next I will apply my make up, and I like to get the majority of it done in the morning and just touch up before I leave in the evening.

The main things I find really sets my evening make up is, lots of mascara (occasionally I will use false lashes but since using Younique 3D fiberlash this is not needed and it's so much more comfortable), a bright lipstick my favourite at the moment is 'Make-up Revolutions scandalous lipstick in 'Crave'

And lastly some really nice shading in the crease of the eye socket. This really creates an evening look and gives the eyes great definition.

9. Once my make-up is complete, I will then either get ready for the night out in my outfit, or I will get into some daytime clothes till I'm ready to go.

10. Lastly I will pack my bag. My essentials are a purse with money and I.D (although I'm 30 in a few months I still get asked), lipstick, perfume (I will usually carry a small dispenser but I've currently lost mine), a mini hairbrush, a key and if I can fit it in, a blusher and a mini deodorant.

I hope you enjoyed reading.
